The Photographers Eye: Composition Photography Class

The Photographers Eye: Composition Photography Class

Saturday the 22nd of January
brighton palace pier - 9:00 am to 12:00 pm - 3 hours
This event focuses on one of the key disciplines of photography, composition! No matter how hard you look, no matter how much money you spend on your camera you will never find a “composition” button! This skill is something photographers have to develop themselves and this meet up will focus on precisely this. Get beyond the rule of thirds, learn a range of new compositional techniques, some drawn from the masters of photography. Discover how Ansel Adam’s made compelling landscapes by getting low getting wide, discover how Cartier Bresson used triangles to organise his compositions and add dynamism to his images. Example challenges. Take time to make a series of images that explore the use of leading lines. Take time to make a series of images that explore composition from different viewpoints, shoot from low down, from high up. Now make images that combine these two approaches! Make a series of three images that mimic the techniques of Ansel Adams Make a series of images that explore the use of triangles as a compositional technique. After each set of challenges we will re group and review each others images, gaining inspiration from each other before progressing to the next challenge.
